That creeping irony problem

For some time I've noticed that most of the brief headlines in the Yahoo! In The News box seem to have been plucked directly from the pages of the Onion. A few current samples:
Researchers examine ethics of journalists
Al Gore to get lifetime award for Internet
U.S. can't account for $100M spent in Iraq
Call me crazy, but I can't read these without smirking: they all sound like hidden punchlines. Perhaps the Onion's pitch-perfect parody of headlines has ruined them forever, at least for this Area Man.
